CHALLENGE DAY 1: WHY PINTEREST? 

Because your content is too freaking good to be ignored or struck out by someone else’s shiny new post. Seriously! That’s exactly what’s happening on Facebook and Instagram these days as the organic reach has been literally squeezed to death. Have you felt it too?!

When it comes to paid ads? You wanna die a little just by looking at the cost per click, cost per lead and click-through rate. Even if you suck it up and invest your hard earned money in ads, chances are, your ads will fall flat on deaf ears amidst a bazillion other marketing messages & hard sells.  

Why use Pinterest for Business? 

87% pinners come to shop! Yup! No window shoppers, lurkers or stalkers. You’ll be getting in front of BUYERS--not free-loaders.  

Pinterest gains traction over time. There’s no 30-second, 6-hour or 24-hour time stamp on it like there is on FB or IG. In fact, more time means BETTER results. I legit am still making sales from pins that are YEARS old. #heckyes 

Pinners have a 9% higher average income than non-users. How cool! Now it’s up to you to decide whether you want to keep banging your head against the FB wall or get in front of people who are willing to invest. 

Pinterest isn’t just a social media platform, it’s a search engine. Now what on earth does that mean? 200 MILLION active monthly users perform 2 BILLION searches per month. #unreal

What’s been keeping you from using Pinterest in your business? (Be as vulnerable as you can. No judgement here).  

What’s your NUMBER 1 goal that you want to achieve through Pinterest in the next 45 to 90 days? (Brand image, know-like-trust factor, blog traffic, list-building, conversions etc.)

Do a competitor analysis and see where they are with their pinning game! (So you can do even BETTER).

CHALLENGE DAY 2: WHO ARE YOU PINNING FOR? 

Who’s the person you want to get in front of? What are they struggling with right now? 

What did they come looking for on Pinterest (that’s your solution)? Who do they aspire to be? What are some of their deepest desires and dreams?

Your Pinterest account should really be focused on adding value to your target audience. I’m not saying you can’t pin that chocolate cheesecake recipe, but if you do, you should add it to a secret board. Yes, Pinterest has secret boards!! So pin your heart away by creating secret personal boards, they should not be public to confuse your audience though. 

YOUR DAY 2 HOMEWORK: 

List down 5 burning pain points/problems your ideal client has.

Now flip the switch and outline their secret desires.

Brainstorm and write down 5 ways you’re going to add value to your ideal client’s life through your pins.

CHALLENGE DAY 3: YOUR PERFECT BIO

Your bio should briefly (in 160 characters) explain who you help, how you help them, and what they should do next (an opt-in link where they can join your email list).

Also, when creating your bio, keep in mind that Pinterest is a search engine. This means, you need to make sure you’re using the right keywords! You can infuse keywords in both the bio description. See my profile below as an example.

So, when you write your bio, keep it simple and keep your target audience in mind. Answer the following so you can craft your clear, concise & compelling bio right away!

CHALLENGE DAY 4:  HOW NOT TO BLOW YOUR PINTEREST BOARD! 

Pinterest is a search engine. You need to create titles and descriptions for your pins that people are ACTUALLY searching for. 

Name the board based on what people are actually searching for. For example, ‘My Favorite Recipe’, can be better worded as ‘Easy Gluten-Free Dinner Ideas.’

See what I did there? Instead of a broad and vague title, I made it specific, to-the-point, and niched down. 

How cool! 

To further elaborate on this, one of my clients is a fitness coach who focuses on intermittent fasting and macros. I suggested she create boards around those topics, so her board titles are: 

Intermittent Fasting for Women 
How to Track Your Macros
IIFYM Recipes

What’s cool is she’s already at the top of the Pinterest search (AND Google!!!) for intermittent fasting!! She’s attracting people every single day to her blog & to join her email list!

To find out what people are actually searching for on Pinterest, start typing in the search bar. What pops up are the actual keywords that Pinterest suggests!! Awesome, right?

YOUR DAY 4 HOMEWORK: 

Go to Pinterest, type in your niche specific keywords and see what pops up. 

Come up with 5 board themes that talk about your ideal clients’ problems, dreams and present a solution. 

Write one board title and description keeping your ideal client, the theme, and your call to action in mind.
